Mr. Stearn, with over 30 years of professional experience, fused his background in consulting structural engineering for architects, and his vision to own a practice that provides a high standard of personal service, and together with Milind Joglekar, founded Stearn-Joglekar, Ltd in 1990. Since then, Mr. Stearn has collaborated with a wide variety of clients, including many prominent Chicago area architects, developers, public entities and higher education institutions. Mr. Stearn has played an important role in contributing to the organization of the firm by involvement in the overall progress of the projects, and the contractual and administrative tasks that are necessary for a consulting firm to thrive and remain consistent over years of practice. Choosing an undergraduate education in Architectural Studies, followed by a Masters Degree concentrating in structural engineering lends a balanced and comfortable approach to providing a meaningful level of understanding of his architectural client’s goals. Early in his career, Mr. Stearn was active in many renovations of vintage graystone residences, and large factory loft buildings. This experience kindled a lasting interest in working with historic structures and understanding the behavior of old buildings and how they may be repurposed into exciting renovation projects.
